8 - POINT REFORM PLATFORM

As City Councilman for District 18, Moore will fight for:

1.  SAFE STREETS

Propose the creation of a secondary police station that will assist with the policing of 50% of District 18’s geographical territory under the domain of 43rd Precinct’s scope in an effort to remedy slow response time to low level crimes, car break-ins, robberies, vandalism and muggings.

2.  STRONGER SCHOOLS

Build more state-of-the-arts public schools, stop over-testing and invest in vocational skills.

3.  WEALTH-BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES

Sponsor wealth building business seminars aimed at increasing a person's human potential, household income, small business acumen, entrepreneurship and other lucrative career choices.

4.  COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS

Fund much-needed youth employment programs, health fairs, infrastructure improvements and grassroots community-based organizations.

5.  AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Sponsor more home ownership and affordable housing workshops, assisting residents with free credit repair and down payment grant assistance.

 6.  SENIOR SERVICES

Expand senior housing, support services and fund existing senior centers.

 7.  "YES WE CAN" COMMUNITY CENTER

Break ground on the creation of a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-arts facility featuring a performing arts theatre, one NBA-sized basketball court, fitness center, dance and TV studios, senior and teen lounge, internet café, community meeting rooms and much more for District 18. Our facility will be modeled and modified after the existing "Yes We Can" Community Center located in the Town of North Hempstead in Wesbury, Long Island.

8.  PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION EQUITY

Improve public transportation with additional bus routes, MTA rate reductions and commuter van transport services.
